About Me

"A wise man ought to realize that health is his most valuable possession." - Hippocrates

I was born and raised in Alexander City, AL, where Lake Martin served as the backdrop of my youth.  Music was originally my passion, and I achieved a Bachelor of Science in Instrumental Music Education. Then, nursing found me.  I was called to the profession when my mother required a kidney transplant.  Numerous doctors visits and hospital stays laid the foundation of my medical knowledge that would spark me to flip careers.  I remember how meaningful my mother's nurses were to her, and I strive to make the same impression with my patients.

Nursing is for me the opportunity to care for people in a way I could never achieve through music alone.  The ability to aid in the healing process, make people feel their very best, and encourage patients to take charge of their personal health.

My nursing experience has included primary, acute, and long-term care, with expertise in medical-surgical care, leadership, and education. I earned my Doctorate from Faulkner University in Ma.y 2025, and I am currently seeking the opportunity to scale up my teaching role. My short-term goal is to renew my FNP by February 2026.  My five-year goal is to seek additional training and certifications like CNE, CHSE, and others.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano/organ for my church, traveling, attending educational seminars, and spending time with my dogs Niki & Buddy.
